Require that a patient have two in-person appointments with the provider. The first appointment is a state mandated biased counseling session and ultrasound tests to date the pregnancy and determine if a fetal heartbeat is detectable. The heartbeat detection process has no medical need, it is simply a mandate forced upon the patient by the state of Ohio. The state mandated materials used in the counseling session is biased and intended to shame those seeking abortion care. The second appointment is for the abortion procedure. If you have questions about this process or questions about the medical procedure itself please ask the clinic when you call to make an appointment. They are happy to help you navigate the process.
These two appointments must be with the same doctor who will provide the abortion care.
Ohio law requires parental consent before a minor can get an abortion. If a minor cannot obtain parental consent they can go through a judicial bypass process. This process happens in the county court, and must happen in the county in which the minor lives or a county adjacent (next to) the county in which the minor lives.
You can call the clinic for more information, and they can help walk you through the process.
